Although technically Amber is not a true crystal, as it does not have a crystalline structure it is used often in crystal healing. It is actually fossilised tree resin and can be found in a variety of colours from opaque white to golden yellow to dark red. There are new sources of amber being made available of which some have been reconstituted i.e. small pieces are melted together, moulded and polished.
Amber has a rich history and was held in high regard by ancient peoples who viewed it as sacred. This beautiful crystal is found widely and can even be collected on beaches.
It qualities are that it provide protection particularly of the solar plexus chakra. The Solar Plexus has a strong affinity with the colour golden yellow which is Amber’s most common colour. The stone absorbs both subtle and physical negative energy. When rubbed with certain substances it can create static electricity attracting other particles. This attraction also works on the mental level – Amber can bring into the physical realm ideas and desires that are trapped in the mental realm.
