Aromatherapists and Oil Burners

Posted under Aromatherapy - Aug 30th, 08

Aromatherapist practitioners have been using essential oils that have been passed down for generations as a massage therapy but they have an extra tool that assists them in calming clients in their clinics and can be used at home as well.

The aromatherapy oil burner is a simple but effective way of having the essential oils create the mood either for calming or energising the physical body to heal in a way people need due to the fast moving world we live in at the moment.

Oil burners can be bought in different materials that can complement the room you want to use the burner in, large or small ones that can be discreet or a feature of the room depending on your taste. Electric burners are also available if you prefer as a safe and clean way of using the undiluted oils and if you are entertaining then there are ones that can be used with  tea candles or small candles that can be placed inside the burner, although be careful as the naked flame can cause accidents in windy weather.

The aromatherapist or practitioner will place drops of the essential oil of her or his choice on to a small cotton pad and place it in the burner without any water, to let it evaporate in the room causing the essential oils to send out the aroma that can give their patients a feeling of calmness and the therapist will the start the treatment of aromatherapy massage using the scents of the essential oils to their best advantage.

Aromatherapy oils can be used in home remedies to bring relief in stress and pain and can be also found in bath cubes or sticks each product able to bring the peace or energy according to the choice of the essential oil that is chosen.

It is dangerous to have the oils near ears, mouth or the eye area and not to be used orally.
