One of the worst but common infections for women is cystitis which is a urinary infection.
This condition requires immediate attention as it could affect the kidneys.
I have listed some tips below of methods which can help with this condition:
• Avoid tea and coffee.
• Avoid hot spices and hot foods.
• Take baths without any perfumed toiletries.
If you are studying ‘Ayurveda’ then you will recognise cystitis is a ‘pitta’ condition.
Take one quarter of a teaspoonful each of the herbs cumin and fennel in a cup of boiling hot water. Let it cool a little before drinking.
Try taking Aloe Vera juice mixed with lime juice, pomegranate, coconut and sandalwood. However you will have to leave out the aloe Vera juice if you are pregnant.
‘Kapha’ type people who have cystitis usually have a mix of congestion and mucus in their urinary tract.
This will show by their urine having a pale colour and the treatment is slightly different.
Take cinnamon, trikatu, shilaji, gokshura and gokshuradi guggulu
Avoid sugar, salt and dairy products.
‘Vata’ people are lucky as cystitis is not as strong and the herbal remedies for treating them are shilajit, shatavari, bala and ashwagandha
