Chinese Herbal Therapy

Traditional medicine is usually known simply as TCM and has existed over four thousand years. It is a comprehensive medical system with its own principles, diagnostic methods and therapies.

Traditional Chinese practitioners view a person’s body as an organic network of meridians which connect and co-ordinate with person’s internal organs, muscles, bones, tendons and skin.

Chinese herbs are used as an integral part of their herbal therapy. The herbs are formulated in China and the treatments include the stalks, leaves, seeds and roots. Each herb can be used for a specific purpose and help particular ailments.

The Chinese herbal prescription is made up to suit each individuals need. (Tablet form is available). A person starts the treatment by drinking the tea every day and as the treatment continues a practitioner will keep an eye on their client by having ongoing consultations. They will vary the treatment when required and after a few months stop the treatment.

Note: It is important to check that a qualified practitioner is trained in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and Western medicine and have degrees from chinese medical universities with clinical experience in treating various health problems.
