Chinese Practitioners and the Extra Season

Chinese practitioners do not recognise four seasons as people living in the western world. According to tradition there are five.

Chinese Medicine they have an extra season which can be confusing. This extra season relates to nearly the end of august until the fall. This is the fifth season.

This season is recognised as Harvest time. Harvest time being the time for thanking mother earth for her bountiful produce such as vegetables, fruit and herbs.

When going through this season take note of the body’s muscles, spleen, pancreas and stomach which are represented by the element earth.

Spiritually we give thanks at this time of the year for providing us with many good times over the last year with family and friends.

Listed below are some of the areas where the body need support:
Diabetics need to watch their sugar and to take of the insulin levels. When insulin levels are balanced it is good for the pituitary.
Use herbal remedies to calm the digestive tract.
Watch to see if your stomach suffers from higher acid attacks.
Warning: do not take too many antacid tablets. Make an appointment to see your local doctor.
