The healing powers of flower essences have been used for centuries across the world. The Aboriginals and the ancient Egyptians used flower essences to heal negative emotions and there has been long documented evidence of flower essences used in South America, Asia and India throughout history. In the Middle Ages flower essences were widely used in Europe. Paracelsus and Hildegard von Bingen both wrote extensively about collecting dew from flowers in order to cure health imbalances.
There was a revival of this method by Dr Edward Bach over sixty years ago using a variety of English flowering plants. He based his selection on the key negative emotions that he perceived were important in his day. Although these flower remedies remain possibly the most widely used there has been an acknowledgement that Dr Bach’s remedies are perhaps not far enough reaching to deal with the emotional imbalances of the 21st century. Issues with sexuality, communication and spirituality have now been addressed through the development of the Australian Bush Flower Essences.
This beautiful range of essences was developed by Ian White, a fifth generation herbalist and Naturopath. Ian was raised in the Australian bush and as a child was taken bush walking with his grandmother who specialized in using Australian plants to heal.
The essence of this vibrant country is reflected in these essences which help to give clarity and purpose to one’s life. They also nurture intuition, spirituality, self esteem, creativity and a joy of life. The affect of the essences is claimed to be similar to the affects of meditation in that it gives you access to the knowledge and wisdom of your Higher Self. As part of this process negative self beliefs and emotions are released and balance is restored.
