Hopi practitioner or Thermo-Auricular Therapy

Posted under Hopi - Aug 8th, 08

Hopi candles originate from the Hopi Native American tribe and the English translation is ‘peaceful ones’.

The Hopi tribe have traditions that balance their healing with their spiritual lifestyle and it was the Hopi that brought the therapy to England.

Ear candles are used to treat the ear, nose and throat problems and the therapist will start by checking out the ear with an Ottoscope to see if there are any visible infections.

The candles are hollow and made in the traditional way using herbal extracts and once the candle is placed gently in the ear the heat sucks out any infection which helps the sinuses and the deposits are pulled by the smoke to the base. No burns are visible only a crackling sound and the warmth of the heat near your ear. There is a mark on the candle and when the flame reaches the mark then the candle needs to be removed. It is advisable that both ears receive treatment to keep a balance. Once the treatment is finished the therapist will massage the ears and then checked again to see if further treatment is required.

Hopi Indian Candles have combinations of herbal extracts such sag, chamomile, Chamomile, St. Johns Wort blended with honey, linen and beeswax and then blended and rolled into a candle.
