Meditation for Mind and Body

Posted under Meditation - Apr 21st, 09

There is no mystery to meditation. It is an alternative therapy which can be learnt and used every day and can be adapted to anyones way of life.

A trained therapist will start by teaching how to sit with good posture on a chair and breath correctly.
Breathing correctly can help to recognise the part of the body in need of healing to promote good health and ecourage the body to improve its mental and physical health.

• If you want to try this method at home, sit quietly in an upright chair with your back touching the back of the chair.

• Close your eyes and listen to your breathing and relax with the breath.

• When you decide to finish meditating open your eyes, sit quietly until your senses are back to normal. Drink a little water.

Once you have tried this a couple of times you will find the process easier and ready to concentrate on healing health issues.

Tip:
When you sit to heal part of your body all you need to do is concentrate on the part of the body which needs healing. Let your body relax to let the blood flow bringing in the oxygen and nutrients needed. Finish your meditation in the normal way.
Caution: Make sure your mobile and telephone are switched off at you are not disturbed.
