Natural Ways to Alleviate ME

Diet and Nutrition

A healthy diet excluding sugars, caffeine, processed foods and alcohol can help to dramatically reduce symptoms.  You should try to include plenty of slow releases energy carbs for example pasta.  This will keep blood sugar levels balanced.  Evening Primrose can also maintain energy and blood sugar levels but you will need to take it for several months to appreciate the affects. 

ME sufferers can be particularly low in magnesium levels.  Vitamin C and fish oil combinations an also have good results and in moderation the vitamin B complex, zinc and beta carotene. 

One theory to why ME is rising is that food allergies may trigger it.  Common culprits are citrus fruits and chocolate which can cause irritable bowel syndrome in some ME patients.
