NLP was first recognised by two gentlemen in the 70’s. Mr Richard Bandler and John Grinder, who were studying therapy at the time. They were studying hypnosis, linguistics, anthropologists and psychoanalysts. The idea is to look at the sensory information that gives us our thoughts and ideas which affects our state and behaviour and the way we perceive other people experiences.
It is like being the in the secret service of a James Bond movie , watching how each one of us represent information differently and connect by strategies and communication.
NLP is like a code to use information in a different way to get more results and to understand the ways of others, in short we are not only having a wanton curiosity but we are downright nosey.
One of the areas that NLP can be of assistance with is Phobias and dissolving fears that people may have had for years. Others are Communication, Confidence, Positive emotional support, and many more.
Five Senses
We use our 5 senses as a receiver for everything that happens every second of the day. This is important as we interpret the information by visually / Auditory/ Kinaesthetic/ Olfactory and Gustatory.
We are not aware of 2 million things happening every second (because we’d go crazy!) so our mind filters the information into about 7 bits. In order to filter the 7 bit in to millions of other bits it deletes some things and distorts or generalises the rest.
Different training courses or training institutes have their own ideas on strategies and techniques, these can be found online or information is available in the local training colleges.
